Hi, I’m Kyle Brown — a Northern New Mexico wedding photographer based in Red River and serving Angel Fire, Taos, and the entire Enchanted Circle.
I didn’t just choose this area as a backdrop for my business — I grew up here. These mountains shaped me. I know how the light hits Wheeler Peak at sunset, how quickly the weather can shift during an afternoon ceremony, and where to sneak away for a quiet, wind-protected portrait with a view that feels unreal. That local knowledge matters on a wedding day.
Southern Exposure Photography was started by my dad over 40 years ago, and I’ve had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings, family portraits, and milestone moments across Red River, Angel Fire, Taos, and throughout Northern New Mexico. Today, I lead our wedding photography with a focus on timeless imagery, genuine moments, and artwork that lasts for generations.
My job is to help you feel relaxed, confident, and fully present. I want you to look back at your images and remember exactly how it felt — not just how it looked.
If you’re planning a wedding in Red River, Angel Fire, Taos, or anywhere in Northern New Mexico, I would be honored to tell your story.
Afternoon storms roll in fast. Wind can shift ceremony plans. Sunsets disappear behind peaks earlier than you expect.
Because I’ve photographed weddings here for years, I can anticipate those challenges before they happen. I know the best portrait locations near Red River Ski Area, Angel Fire Resort, and hidden scenic overlooks in Taos. I know how to work with high-altitude light and dramatic landscapes while keeping skin tones natural and true-to-color.
When you hire me, you’re not just hiring a wedding photographer — you’re hiring someone who understands Northern New Mexico weddings inside and out.
Weddings are one of the only days in your life where all of your favorite people are in the same place at the same time. That deserves more than snapshots.
My style blends documentary storytelling with intentional portraiture. I’ll step back and capture real emotion as it unfolds — the tears, the laughter, the quiet in-between moments — but I’ll also confidently guide you when it’s time for portraits so you never feel awkward or unsure of what to do. Couples often tell me it feels like working with a friend who just happens to know exactly how to manage a wedding timeline and get incredible images.
Whether you’re planning a destination mountain wedding in Red River, a chapel ceremony in Angel Fire, or a scenic Taos wedding overlooking the valley, I’ll help you navigate lighting, locations, timing, and flow so your day feels seamless.
